Hello, Fall! — from sea to nyc

It's officially September, which means everyone's favorite season is here! I know we are all so ready to say hello to fall fashion! This photoshoot was spent laughing and dodging thunderstorms per usual in this crazy Colorado weather. Only a few more posts until I'm back to Seattle style for the school-year!

The key to any good fall outfit is definitely layering, especially as the unpredictable weather begins to change. For this look, I'm wearing several new pieces I picked up over the last few weeks. First, this adorable pink swing top from American Eagle is so simple and cute. The fabric is super soft (like all of their clothes!) and I especially love the triangle cutout in the back. Even better-- it comes in several different colors!

Next, I'm wearing my favorite jeans of all time- these adorable super skinnies from Abercrombie! Their jeans are quickly becoming my favorite. I love the patchwork denim detailing and fun pops of color. The fray bottom trend is to-die-for, and these pants incorporate it perfectly. They are so comfortable and stretchy, too!

I just purchased these Steve Madden AUSTIN booties in cognac after saving up for them all summer long! They were worth the splurge because I know boots are something I wear almost every day in the winter. I need a few sturdy pairs to get me through the harsher months, and these are so perfect! I adore the cutout accent at the ankle. SO unique and cute for fall!

I finished off the look with layers that will really add warmth when needed. This tan leather jacket from Express has been one of my favorites over the years. The zipper accents are just right, and the color goes with nearly any outfit! And of course, every fall look needs a flowy scarf. Ann Taylor Loft always has some of my favorites, and they come in the funnest patterns! This polka dot scarf is subtle and fun- its neutral colors never take away from an outfit, but it definitely serves as a great add-on! I always look forward to Loft's fall releases.

Lastly, I thought it would be fun to use a prop for this shoot! What better way to welcome fall than with a "hello" sign?! I just made this one to decorate my dorm room with. The sign was less than two dollars and I just painted on an autumn brown color and glued on cute flowers! I can't want to see how it looks in the room.
